  1. Mine is just a standard Gnome 3 desktop which exactly is the same as the screenshots on http://gnome3.org/
  2. Greetings, and with the mangos-zero train starting to roll, we're now starting to put together the mangos-one ship, which shall now receive its' dediated crew to sail beyond the borders of Azeroth into the realms of Outland. Keep your eyes on https://github.com/mangos-one, as the updates keep coming in. Joining the mangos-one crew Arrr! If you love the times when patch 2.4 was the thing raise your parrot to join the crew and give a helping hand, claw, whatever. Requirements are low, all you need is love for WoW and of course, Outland, sufficient motivation to win a Dwarven drinking contest, and the rest we'll teach you. Sheeps said enough, make yourself heard.
  3. Here comes the update: the server, the script bindings, and the content database are online and usable. I think those wo like classic WoW should give it a try, we've added a few very nice changes everywhere. I'd also like to mention that we are starting to replace the usual commit as you want workflow with a milestone/issue based approach slowly. As you can see e.g. on the server project issues, we start to file and group issues for various topics by milestones. I'll be adding more as we march forward, and of course everyone interested can fork and submit pull requests for a ticket. We could use a bit help with Python, as there are some very much needed projects in demand of Python love. Poke me here or on github if you Python!
  4. Damn, I thought I had fixed that Gonna check again.
  5. ... the above nicely sums things up, indeed.
  6. In case of UDB and YTDB it may be because of the different language While I do understand a bit of Russian and still learn a bit more each day, not everybody may be wanting to do so. Anyway... we could in theory run forums for UDB using the getmangos user database, thus eliminating one additonal account for every user.
  7. It's not that the main database providers should merge there databases right now or anywhere in the future. The point is that there are few actually willing to do something, and those few should be able to do so without wondering where to do so.
  8. I'm sure we can gather a few more great people for mangos-one, too. Besides we may as well reorganize our forums to provide room for zero/one, and database/scripts, too.
  9. ... and the updated mangos-zero database with hundreds of beautiful changes has reached github, too. Enjoy!
  10. There will be the same action for each branch of mangos. Due to my limited time I try to get each branch redefined and the interested people supplied with resources within one week, meaning I'll be supplying all the -zero friends with help and resources up to the 2nd September, and then I'll open the same post and action for mangos-one. @caeruleaus: PM incoming.
  11. Actually, you're right. Currently I'm delivering resources and instructions to everyone interested along with required materials. iRC is a topic, too. Personally I have to admit that my own chat habits are near cataclysmic qualities
  12. I'm glad to see raised hands, I'll get to you via PM or other channels, though it's going to be a little different, because I'll hand out resources and specific tasks instead of the usual "do whatever you can" We're doing this a bit more like google Summer of Code with mentoring.
  13. Of course there is. We have quite a good round of mangos-zero friends gathered already but the more the better. Same applies to mangos-one, which will come next.
  14. Aye, and this sheep is in fact a Bronzebear dwarf that has not been shaving his beard for the last 20 brewfests! Since it's inception, I never moved me ass away from those kegs for a single pint!
  15. Greetings, while it may seem silent these days on our forums, laziness has not yet reached this holy halls. We're pouring new life into mangos-zero, and will be providing a whole lot of nifty updates for those who love their classic dose of WoW. Keep your eyes on https://github.com/mangos-zero, as the updates keep coming in. Joining the mangos-zero train If you love the times when patch 1.12 was the thing feel free to raise a hand if you would love to jump on the train and give a helping hand. Requirements are low, all you need is love for classic WoW, sufficient motivation to win a Dwarven drinking contest, and the rest we'll teach you. Sheeps said enough, make yourself heard.
  16. Seriously, how am I supposed to support you if I can not understand what you want from us?! Yes, there may be differences between the ticket system in TC2/OregonCore, and mangos-one. But what exactly is crappy? P.S. you know that the people answering support requests on OregonCore forums are mostly those answering on MaNGOs forums, too? Do you?
  17. Cross platform portability was an issue, and both C# and Java doe have their fair share of worst case scenarios when it comes to portability. For other reasons try to build one application, even a tiny one in C/C++, Java, and C# and then try to run and use it on Windows, Mac OS, Linux and BSD. :-D
  18. Since Wine emulates the Win32 API injection should work there, too. Try and see From the legal side it does not really matter which route we chose, limitations are the same as with pre 4.0 clients anyway.
  19. Of course, this is open for discussion, and if someone wants to get involved in this stuff, feel free to do so. Technically it is impossible to do this solo anyway. Any legal body requires a few real persons to reveal their identities and get tied into this, and besides I would prefer to have a few more people working on this. The sheep would prefer a crowd of sheep to being a lonely sheep
  20. Mission statement: The MaNGOS foundation's purpose is to establish the freedom of education as a human right. Education is about the only resource available which can and should be given to everyone in need without making compromises for corporate interests. We do believe that freedom of education is as important as freedom of speech, and that freedom of speech is not sufficient without freedom of education. One can not exist without the other. ... which sums up the sheep's feelings and opinion in this. Does that sound like a mission statement that is worth to pursue?
  21. I have been quite busy with the idea of going for a non-profit organization which works for the purpose of education without corporate barriers, and well, I can say it was a hell of a ride. IMHO the primary goal and task for a foundation would be to establish education without corporate barriers as right, even better to get to a point where education itself becomes a human right, and thus bigger than any corporate interest at all. In that I see the current projects and development as strong examples and good showcases for this. Why? Because our way works. See how many developers have made gigantic strides forward in terms of knowledge here, and I am sure it pays off for their employers, too. But the sad truth is that whatever organization it shall become, it does require funding. A real legal body costs money, and we are not talking about a few hundred Euros, its going to be a few thousand with probably five digits. I have no idea how we could make that happen. We are not something famous, like LibreOffice, and we're not really good at public relations either Whatever, I want to make this thing happen. This may be something good to leave for our children, and I am open for suggestions. Oh, and BTW: Germany, Switzerland, all is fine, the primary reason for Europe is that the European Community has a law that gives students work priority over corporate interests in research. Thats a good starting point
  22. Yup, that is a broken AJAX call. Stamped for next forum update.
  23. The export feature preserves everything, except binary files. Those sadly always have to be copied manual. I am using export/import myself to move Wiki data around. No issues yet.
  24. Stop posting pictures of me in my undies! baaaaaaah
  25. Greetings mangos community, even though the year is almost done, there still are some larger changes to be served to you. Let us make this one short: all branches of mangos now are united under one umbrella. mangos-zero (patch 1.12.1): in the early days, there was one flavor, and it was named vanilla WoW by a few. This offspring of mangos now lives in its own repository: https://github.com/mangos/zero. A matching ScriptDev repository is available. mangos-one (patch 2.4.3): when space goats became a new flavor in WoW, the Burning Crusade begun, and now chose to have its own home here: https://github.com/mangos/one. A matching ScriptDev repository exists, too. The current mangos repository now is only home to the Lich Kings Wrath, aka patch 3.3.5(a). We hope these changes will make it easier for you to find what you need, and for us to continue development of the various flavors of mangos. With kind regards, baaaaaaaaah..... said the sheep. P.S. UDB might see a similar change, too. This is still under discussion.
