  1. Which is why most people use forums for bug reports instead of trackers?
  2. Well, that is why I am asking. Bug reports and patch submissions are probably the most active places, and since people rather discuss bugs and patches, I considered a forum integrated bug tracker as it would have both combined and require less looking around.
  3. Database section now is 3rd party projects home. I am open for suggestions regarding possible overhauls of the section.
  4. Greetings, while the original intention of this forum section was to encourage discussion of the servers database, this finally has changed. You're now officially welcome to submit your projects surrounding mangos here. But... keep it legal, and give proper credits where credits are due. Furry hint... do not create thousands of scripts for the same purpose, combine your awesome powers.
  5. Probably turn this into 3rd party section here. It doesn't seem like we have a hell of people interested in stuff like database normalization, etc.
  6. Check your db_version table. It should have a column telling you what update you last used. Start from the next SQL update on and your error should be resolved.
  7. gitready has a nice into to rebase btw.
  8. Usually if you do have Visual Studio installed, then all required runtime libraries are installed. Visual Studio includes the runtime libraries, so it can not yield that error for you, unless you have made some error in your package selection during Visual Studio installation. OpenSSL and MySQL are included in the dep folder, so that should not be missing either. Why not simply open your command line and run the mangos executables from there. If there is anything wrong, you should see an error message at least there.
  9. And if we wipe it, and start from scratch I bet we would have complaints about missing stuff right in the 1st minute the wiped forums would be online. What might be possible is keeping these forums read-only and starting fresh on a different installation. But thats probably something only started by cataclysmic events.
  10. If your speaking about the sites' favicon, it is still there, and accessible.

    Saying Hi.

It's quite a bit easier these days, you can be up and running with a few minutes

    wich cms ?

I'd agree with Patman128 here. A ready-made CMS is nice, but it should usually be your starting point to build a custom system you can enjoy.
  13. It has been disabled due to some technical issues, but it will come back. It's on the task list
  14. You should probably download the source code from github.com/mangos/mangos instead, and build the binaries yourself if you have Visual Studio installed. Your friend might have used a build configuration not suitable for your system.
  15. I have disabled this feature for now.
  16. IMHO it all works out well. mangos is the most stable community I've ever seen. No daily bash times, or worse things, and thats a definite win.
  17. Vladimir pretty much nailed it. We have had open forums for a while two years ago, and it was painful... if I try to describe the experience in friendly words.
  18. We should add a remote mangos event, right away in assembly code and dump it inside. Each week the happy mangos community raises a beer to the server with goblin fireworks. Somewhere along those lines
  19. I'd like a Blizzard MMO based on the Booty Bay goblins and the Bloodsail Bucaneers. A gigantic harrr to ye land lubers!

    Afk?

The friendly sheep is on the road to Switzerland
  21. You don't want to know how many public mangos realms exist... and among the existing ones there is probably only a 1/3 actually giving credit. The remainders just claim mangos sucks, and their core is their own work. mangos could sue them all for copyright infringement Shall we ?
  22. Seriously, I can understand where you're coming from. Try my view. This forum is meant to be a place where people can learn more about advanced C/C++ development in a place where spam and trolling is not welcome. Opening up these forums would honestly work only under two conditions: more moderators doing very strict moderation, and more people actually willing to write documentation instead of just more people requesting installation support. If you can tell me how we can keep the forum quality as good as it is with all those friendly, and kind people we have here, even with a few thousand more users, then make a suggestion, give a helping hand, and we can try it. It's not that I am unwilling to open things up, I just prefer suggestions that come with possible solutions
  23. In general, I think forums are by far the least acceptable answer to providing information. It is a discussion format, and I think for pure information there are far superior solutions. E.g. take a look the Fedora Docs. These are created using Publican.
  24. Well... forums are at all against SEO. Besides issues will not be cut down. People usually are too lazy to search, thus search spiders will not help to any degree
