[Solved] Zero - Database updates

Hi guys , finally got my maps all extracted now and am just about to start getting my server online i just wanted to check which updates are applicable if i may please , i have ran the bat and created the db's ,now in my rel20 updates folder do i run every update sql in each folder in there ?

i would advise running Realmd & mangosd to see what updates you need-

- There is also a Rel20 branch of the database Repo, hopefully i've you've loaded that - there should be no updates required

i cloned a fresh rel20 with the info foereaper helped me with lastnight and compiled it before i made this thread

git clone https://github.com/mangoszero/server.git -b Rel20 --recursive

Nps will run them both and see

Hey, you said in the chat box it took you 24hours to extract the maps, can I just check you compiled the server in release and not debug? That makes the extractors take very long and also adds a lot of un-needed stuff to map files and other things.

If compiled in release the extractors should be taking a max of around 2 hours using the Rel20 ones.

Hi max ,yeh pretty sure it was done in Win32_release not debug ,i'll add size of map folders ok to check they are right size

Ok when i started the auth server nothing came up about updates but with the world one i got

So i just applied the following (im correct in thinking i just need these three ? )

Also can i just check with you guys with my log to be sure it looks normal for the start up please as noticed a lot of errors in the log and not sure if i have done something wrong or not

Looking at the log file, I'd manually reimport the SD2 database as it looks like some stuff "could" be missing.

Do those SQL files in that order and if you could post another log file that would be great. You can attach them directly by clicking manage attachments at the bottom of this page if you like

ok i applied those 3 in the order you mention ,attached the log *oops maybe not it says invalid file ,also tried with it rar'd and now says ive been blocked from getmangos lol

*edit thought i would add the steps i did on installing the server as well in case i missed something ?

copied the server to dedibox and the sql folder

ran the Install_DB.cmd and created the 3 databases and then ran the 3 updates i mentioned above to the world/mangos db

then applied the 3 you mentioned above

ok like a complete noob i didnt download the db from https://github.com/mangoszero/database ,imported this one now and applied updates needed from world folder and applied 3 you mentioned above and npc's etc are showing now but still a "lot" of errors in log file

Hi Antz ,i followed those steps and still seem to be generating a mass of errors (majority of the log content) when starting the world/mangos server ,so i went over my steps from scratch again and recorded it so you could see that i followed the steps on the guide video link below only 3 mins long if you guys dont mind watching it please so you can see i did it as instructed in the wiki guide also will attach the log as well

Also think part of the guide may be wrong ?

there is no database/sql/Installer_DB.cmd only in source sql/install_db.cmd ?

Thank you Max that would be ideal and very kind of you ,is it ok to wait about 45mins to 1 hour please ? as really need to get my kids up to bed before this as will be a nightmare doing it with them climbing all over me

I think so Antz there was still a lot of errors but max said that is normal and that all looked ok
