Hi, I'm not sure if this is where I should post this but anyway, I'm relatively new to installing MaNGOS (I installed it back in 2012) and I'm having a problem when I start building, after a few seconds it looks like it finished with the serverZero_build folder but afterwards it gives me an error Capture.PNG.1b0cbbc9033400ed2775fd80dad5bd6d.PNG

after that a window pops up saying "Cannot start process because a file name has not been provided."

EasyBuild tells me I have all of the dependencies so I'm not sure what's happening. I also tried reinstalling CMake and still the same problem. I'm trying to install Zero btw.

UPDATE:

Well just submitted the question, and found the missing files ofc... found them in the server_install tool folder.

however it doesn't really like my buildversion, which I then assume links to my downloaded client..

how do I go about getting older versions working with this extractor?

Gonna google like crazy of course, but if someone got the answer readily available, it's of course much appriciated.

Thanks.

ORIGINAL QUESTION:

Hiya, completely new here never tried this private server thing before.  Running all on a windows 10 machine.

So I've followed this guide:

and are now stuck at the step where I should extract data.

It says I should place tools in the wow.exe/launcher.exe folder, but first let me mention this is the tools I've got in the tools/Extractor_binaries folder:

ExtractResources.sh, make_vmaps.bat, mmap_excluded.txt, mmap_extract.py, movemapgen.sh, offmesh.txt, offmesh_example.txt, readme.txt

As for the client, I didn't see any guide/link to older versions, so I assume I should download latest from Blizzard?

Having done that, I copied all "tools" into the main folder of the fresh client, where the "world of warcraft launcher.exe" is located.

I also copied all the "tools" to the -retail- folder a sub folder, where the "wow.exe" is located.

I got git bash and all that - so I'm able to double click "extracresources.sh" and it prompts me the questions, do you want to extract all and how may processors etc.

But I get no results, no matter if I run in one or the other folder.

It goes on and logs; Start extraction of DBCs and map files...

and I am guessing here is the problem, since it then logs; bash: ./map-extractor: no such file or directory

this is repeated with vmap-extractor, movemapgen.sh

So it looks like I*m missing some files in the "tool" folder - but so far I've had no errors...

Anyone got some pointers I could dig into?

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Is this product no longer supported? Comments are years old. Installation guides are broken and links dead. With a broken guide and by comments it looks like it has been abandoned for some time then the product is dead for new users wanting to install it following the official guide. OpenSSL is just one example as its a prerequisite on your install guide but those links are dead and EXE installers are no longer available anywhere as only ZIPs are available which means the whole section for this that shows steps using an installer for 1.1.1 serves no purpose. As a pre requisite that is broken then the guide is broken. What is the replacement for Mangos for new installations if this is discontinued? Cheers.

Mangos is still active and things move on at a fast pace. OpenSSL is now on version 3.x. If you use easybuild, it can download a confirmed working version of OpenSSL for you.

Since everyone at Mangos are volunteers, we don't always have the time to keep everything upto date. This is where we need the community to help us out.
