Hello, I've (one more time, but it is the last ) problem!

When I run mangosd.exe have some errors as:

The last line is:

and it's impossible to create a new player:

mangos>create test pass
CLI command under processing...
There is no such command

Thanks a lot for your help, I'm near the end!

EDIT: I went to delete and install one more time the database mangos but have same errors

EDIT2: Thoses errors seems to be "normal" in fact, but I don't understand for allowed socket and create mode

Greetings,

I have as of 06/22/09 follwed all the above instructions properly except the following:

-Go here to download the newest UDB database (contains all the world stuff)

-Make sure that your MaNGOS core is up-to-date with the database (check your core's revision number, then the compatible revision number within the file title of the UDB database)

-Download the latest UDB update packs here (if that link doesn't work, go here and find the updates folder in /trunk)

When i navigate to obtain the UDB database Im left with a choice of a "ForCleanInstallOnly/l option or "UDB_0.11.5_Core_7681_SD2_1012.rar". When i navigate to either of them I am presented with more questions on where to navigate and which files are the ones I need. I know my MaNGOS information is:

2009-06-24 12:15:08 MaNGOS/0.14.0-DEV (* * Revision 8071 - *)

however when i run it, there are messages indicating the tables are empty (duh). My request is just for a more exact instruction on where and what I need to download.

Use the search and you would have gotten your answer.

account set expansion level

level = 0, 1, 2

0 = classic

1 = TBC

2 = Wotlk

gm command follows same syntax. Just play around with it and figure it out.

Is it possible (and if yes, how ?) to "donwload" an older revision with git ?

with Tortoise svn, i do :

right click

Tortoise SVN >> update to revision

i wrote the revision number (older than the newest)

and hop everything is done

any idea please ?

they have told you. you have to figure this out yourself. Mangos is not meant to be easy in setup. It's a learning project as davemm has said countless times. Use the resources you have available to find your answer. No one's gonna hold your hand through this.

What is Mangos?

"There has never been, and, hopefully, never will be a "quick-1-click-install" available for mangos.

Mangos is NOT about setting up a massive public server to stroke your Epeen in the direction of your friends.

Mangos is NOT just something to stumble upon and expect to work 1st time with no hassle.

Mangos is NOT easy to setup, or use.

Mangos IS an educational project, where you will learn about c++, sql, networking, troubleshooting and much much more.

yea that i know for 100% right now if fixed myself problem with compilling and other stuff but i only dont know how to do this update plz just give me 1 tip how the hell i should do this if tried to make it so many times and nothing thats why im writing on this forum not for "free help" i just dont know what do to right now and u said it teach C++ but for learning you need a teacher too...

You really should look at UDB's forums. Basically you want to connect to your Mangos DB, look at table db_version, then look at column "required_xxxx_xx_mangos_xxxxx" the required_xxxx_xx will tell you what sql update to apply.

Medium level of newbness here. Have done arcemu not mangos. After reading the forums and placing my .conf, .exe and .dll files in the correct folder, the realmd.exe executes fine, but no go on the mangosd.exe

Both are configured correctly I think. So I'm at a loss. Used VS 2008 to compile and it went off with no errors. Completed updated database with newest UBC release. Copied libeay32.dll & libmySQL.dill in to windows/system32 (tried it both before and after copy, no luck) and VC folder of VS 2008. Replaced files used in Arcemu with files from Mangos in VS 2008. Not sure of the next step to troubleshoot :mad: Any help would be great.

And I did with a full rebuild, and obviously replaced all 'old' files.

On visual c++ 2008 express

go tools options projects and solutions vc++ directories

in excutables files new line the open folder icon then either browse to your vc folder or type C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\\VC\\bin

in Include files new line the open folder icon then either browse to your vc folder or type C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\\VC\\include

in Library filesnew line the open folder icon then either browse to your vc folder or type C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\\VC\\lib

mangosd.conf setting (password = root, original I know):

RealmID = 1

DataDir = "."

LogsDir = ""

and what happens when you run mangosd.exe? does the console popup then disappears? if so where you placed the mangosd.exe there should be a logs directory. check that out and see what errors it shows.

One last thing, did you do the extract of the dbc files with ad.exe and copy the folder to the same directory you put .conf, .exe, and .dll? You did not mention you did that.

Hello sounds like you have the exact issue i had before i finally gave up, it has to do with not having the correct .sql files installed, you have to get them from that link, I gave up because after several attempts, the best i could do was get the world going w/o npc's and when i tried adding other .sql's it just screwed the whole thing up and i tried uninstalling and starting over, but now it won't even let me get to the point of logging in to a npcless world.

Thanks for the advice...the log file for the mangosd.exe was never generated. I used the sql for the client I needed (I'm a member of UDB forums too so I'm pretty sure I got that right. The dbc and maps were extracted and put in the correct folder. I did have a previous db with the same names in MySQL for arcemu, I might not have 'cleaned it out' properly, so I'm wondering if that isn't the problem. thanks again
